5 on Friday

My summer is coming to an end.  Boo!!!
It's amazing how much shorter summer is when you are a counselor instead of a teacher.  I'm not complaining.  Really, I'm not.  I'd much rather be doing what I do than having to keep up with classroom management and grading papers ALL the time.
But in all honesty, I think a counselor has about 3 less weeks of summer vacay than teachers.

As I conclude my 53 days of Summer on Sunday, I wanted to reflect on my 5 most favorite moments/times of the past 50 plus days.

1.  Date Night

Aaron and I are so incredibly blessed to live around all of our family.  With that comes many perks known as GRANDPARENTS.  Let me tell you Jackson has some grandparents that LOVE him.  This happened to be one of the nights the grandparents (Meema and PopPop) offered to watch him, so we could have a date night.  Aaron and I went to Fireside Pies down on West 7th in FW.  This has got to be one of our favorite places to eat!!!!  We don't have many places we feel that way about, but this is definitely on our short list.  Not only was the food soooooo good, but we just had a great night with great conversation.  It's amazing how you don't realize how nice it is to eat dinner without a baby until you have your own baby.

2.  Going to the BEACH

Really, need I say more?  Coming from a non-beach person, this was probably my favorite time at a beach.  I've been to the beach with my parents growing up. I went to the beach with friends when I was going to Florida College. We went to Maui for our honeymoon.  We went to South Padre last year with Aaron's family.  Every other time I was kind of "whatever'.  (Well, maybe except for our Maui honeymoon!!! Now that was AMAZING!!!)  Not this time, I cannot recommend Seaside, Florida more.  AMAZING and very family friendly!!!  I truly can't wait to go back.  Buckets of sunscreen and all, I look forward to a return trip.  That is high praise from a non-beachy person.

3.  Jackson Hole
After having gone almost 10 straight summers in a row minus 2010, I love going to Jackson Hole!!!  We are so fortunate to be able to go as often as we do.  I look forward to going every summer as a nice getaway from the Texas heat.  There truly is no other place like it!!!  I LOVE JH and Victor, ID (where GPa and RaRa's cabin is actually located)!!!  Plus, a huge bonus is getting to spend so much time with RaRa and GPa.  They both are HUGE blessings to us!!!

4. Mommy and J time

Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I get to be his mom!  How cool is that!!!  I know I am partial, but he is seriously the cutest little baby boy EVER!!!  I know I am biased, but seriously!!!  You just don't get much cuter than J.  What a blessing to spend so much one-on-one time with this little guy.  As frustrated as I get with him and his clinginess, I LOVE him!  I know he won't be this age and stage forever, so I really try to remember that and soak it all in.  I know one of these days.  I hope not too soon he will be rolling his eyes and annoyed with me for being so clingy to him.

5.   Fun mornings with Daddy

With Aaron's new job and schedule, he is home on Tuesday and Thursday mornings until about 10:20.  Given that this is the only time he will see J all day.  We really soak up our time while Daddy is home.  We have breakfast together and then play, play, play.  It's been fun having Daddy home in the morning and just being kind of lazy.

Today I'm linking up with Hello! Happiness
