Exciting News!!!

A few days ago I told you I had some exciting news!!!

NO-

I am NOT pregnant!!!

This is what happened--

I am proud to announce that I am now a Mary Kay Beauty consultant.

After a couple of months of thinking and praying about this, I jumped in on Sunday afternoon.  As most of you know, I have been working part-time as a school counselor for the last two school years.  It has been such a wonderful blessing for our family.  However, my current school will need a full-time counselor next school year.  As much as I love the school, my heart is now more focused on other things.  If you couldn't tell by this blog, I am just a little bit crazy about this little guy.

My sweet Jackson

I am so EXCITED about Mary Kay.  I am excited about their products. I am excited about what this could mean for our family. I am just plain excited.  I know it's not going to be easy, but I do see so many possibilities.  That more than anything gives me hope.  I promise I will not turn this blog into Mary Kay central, but I will be mentioning it some here and there.

Now, if you are reading this and need a beauty consultant, I am your girl!!!  I am wanting to build my business to help woman feel better about themselves.  It's amazing how a new lip gloss can give you a little extra pep in your step.   The other great thing about the internet is that you don't have to live in Texas for me to be your MK consultant.  I have a website.  You can order directly from it, and I can have it shipped to your door step.  How cool is that!!!  Really the possibilities are endless!!!

Here are a couple of things I would like to show you if you haven't looked at Mary Kay in a while. These things make great gifts for the holidays as well as great stocking stuffers!!!

Mary Kay is such a great company, and I am excited to be a part of it.  Thanks for taking a minute to share in my fun news.  If you have any questions, please ask or leave a comment.

Have a great weekend!!!

Thankful

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday.  I love the tradition of it.  We always have the same food.  No potluck at my mom's house.  Thank goodness!!!  I really don't like potlucks!!!  Who wants to eat some random dish that might be just okay or eat store bought pie.  I mean really people.  It's the one day a year we eat the exact same food that we have had every year since I can remember.  And it's good food.  Food that has been perfected over the years.  There's no need to find a new version of it because it's the best.  Or at least the best in my book.

So as we gather around the table tomorrow, I want to stop and think about what I am really, really thankful for.  Yes, I am thankful for the praline-topped sweet potatoes and the cornbread dressing, but I am also thankful for so much more.

I am thankful for my family.  I am one blessed girl to have such a wonderful family.  I have a wonderful Christian husband that holds the same faith as me, for that I am the most grateful. I have the sweetest little boy in the world.  He made me a mama which is now my most favorite job.  I have the best parents in the world that are generous beyond belief, and they love my son more than anything in the world.   I married into a wonderful family that also holds the same faith as me.  I am blessed to have a job I enjoy that allows me to work part-time and be with J more. I am blessed to live in my wonderful cozy house and have my almost 8 year old car.  The list goes on and on.

More than anything, I am blessed to have been raised by parents that love the Lord and showed me that love.  Without Jesus Christ and his promise of salvation, I would be nothing, and all this other "stuff" would mean nothing.  That's what it's all about.  I think sometimes in our busy world, I know I forget to stop and really thank Him and praise Him enough.

Thank you Lord for this wonderful day we have to stop and thank you for all that you do for us each and every day, especially the sacrifice of your one and only Son.

Today I'm linking up with my friend, Erin, at Homemade Happenings.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Weekend

We had a fabulous weekend!!!  It was pretty relaxed and a great start to my week off for Thanksgiving.  I don't know what it is, but I feel like my mindset is so different when I know I have the week off.  I feel so free!!! I don't feel the urgency to get my meals planned for the week.  I don't feel like I have to check my work email five million times.   I actually feel like I have more time to blog.  All that because I have the week off!!!  I LOVE it.  I think we should have the week off every week!!!!  What do you think?

On to our weekend!!!  I honestly took very few pictures.

Saturday morning I woke up at 5:30 to J crying.  I rocked him for about 20 minutes, and he was back to sleep.  Was this mama? Nope.  I finally got up at 6:30.  Aaron was awake, too, so we watched 2 episodes of Revolution.  Can I say that this show just gets better and better.  It is really good!!!

I met a great friend for coffee at Starbucks.  We used to teach together, and I hadn't talked to her since J was born.  It was so good to catch up.  It really made me miss her even more.

After coffee, I headed back to see my boys.  We bundled up and headed to lunch before taking J to Meema and Pop Pop's.

It was a cold Saturday!!!  J is wearing the hat Meema knitted him.

While J spent the afternoon with his Meema and Pop Pop, Aaron and I went to see the Hunger Games: Catching Fire.  If you haven't seen it, you must!!!  It was AMAZING!!!  I liked it a lot more than the first movie. In fact, I am seeing the movie again tomorrow with another friend.  If I want to see a movie again in the same week, it means it's really good!!!

Sunday I took no pictures!!!  It was just a usual Sunday.  We went to church, had lunch with my parents, and J took a nice long nap. Oh and the Cowboys won!!!  That made my hubby really happy.

I have a pretty big announcement coming!!!  I don't want to reveal it yet, but it's pretty exciting.  It's something we've been mulling over for a few months.  So check back in over the next few days.

I hope you had a fabulous Monday!!!

Five on Friday

I am super excited to be doing Five on Friday this week.  I see lots of blogs I read linking up week after week.  Unfortunately, I just can't get it together enough to do it as often as I would like.

-ONE-

I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week!!! Where has November gone?  I'm trying not to freak out about the number of days until Christmas given that I have only bought one Christmas gift.

-TWO-

I got this in the mail today.  It's a prayer chalkboard.  Aaron mentioned he would like for us to have a place we can right down things we want to pray about as a family.  I found this on Etsy, and thought it would be perfect to hang on our fridge.

-THREE-

I found this as I was putting groceries away earlier this week.  You can't tell I have a toddler in the house!!! Just one of the many things that make me smile throughout the day.  My how things have changed since Jackson entered our world!!!

-FOUR-

Today was a much needed day in our world.  I had today off after working two days in a row.  It also happened to be a day we didn't have an appointment for J.  Those days are few and far between now.  So today we didn't have any place to be, and it was so nice!!!  I love days where it's just me and my boy with no plan.  We just hang out, do a few things around the house, run an errand or two, and play.  Just another reason I am thankful to only work part-time.  Laid-back days are priceless!!!

-FIVE-

I ordered my Christmas cards last week.  LAST WEEK!!! That is unheard of!!!  Well, they arrived on my front step this morning.  I am so excited because they turned out great.  Now, I just need to print off address labels and buy stamps.  I will be posting pics later on once I have mailed them and everyone has received their card.

That's all I've got for now!!!  I work a half day tomorrow and then am off for a full week.  I am so excited to spend time next week with my boy and my mom.  One of my favorite things is spending the Wednesday before Thanksgiving cooking with my mom.  I have such great memories of this, and I love that it has become a tradition!!!

Have a great weekend!!!

Final RoundUp

This is my final round up of pictures I hope for a while.  In an effort to get completely to real time, here's another picture heavy post.  Enjoy the compilation of our lives over the last couple of weeks.

Riding in the back seat with my boy!!!

Sour cream and onion chip face!!!

Sadly, these are the only pictures I took at the Ladies Retreat for WWCC.  My mom did the amazing table décor!!! It was an amazing weekend with sisters in Christ.  My fav part was staying up until 2 am talking with my sweet sis-in-law!!!

Snuggles with my boy (with my Iphone)

Coming up the aisle with Daddy after giving his money for Coins for Christ.
I don't take selfies.  I think they are ridiculous!!! However, after 5 compliments on my hair from teachers and students.  I did it.  I took a selfie.  I think the people I work with were trying to tell me I should straighten my hair more.  I had my hair cut the day before, so my hair was extra straight from the blow out.

S'mores cookies.  Easy and delicious!!!

We went to the Stockyards for Christmas card pictures.

After our morning in the Stockyards, J fell asleep in the car on the way home.  So instead of moving a sleeping baby, Daddy read a book.

J got up from his car nap in time to see the branches on the tree being chopped off.

Aaron had Veterans Day off, so we went to Chick-fil-a.

Then, J played in Daddy's truck.

I chaperoned a volunteer field trip with some of the students at YMLA.  Such a great experience for me and my students!!!

It was the coldest day of the season, and J wanted to play outside.  He's such a boy!!!

Terrible fail at Jello Jigglers!!!  J had fun playing in the pan instead.

Friday night treat- Dinner at El Rancho Grande

Saturday errands.

J loves a car!!!  Thanks Costco!!!

That wraps up the marathon of pictures!!!  One week until Thanksgiving!!!  Can't Wait!!!

See Ya Later Alligator

Leave it to me to make deciding what J was going to be for Halloween difficult.  Because I couldn't decide, I ordered two different costumes and tried them on him before settling on the goofy gator costume.
This is what J could have been this year--

Yes, J was almost a baby duck!!!  Daddy vetoed this one.  He said it was too girly for our little boy.  Plus, it just wasn't as cute!!!

Here's our little gator-

Is he not the cutest little gator you ever laid eyes on?
After going to Trunk or Treat at Woodland West, we headed to RaRa and GPa's, so they could see J all dressed up.

We had a wonderful Halloween this year.  I'm hoping J has a little input in his costume next year.  It would be quite helpful for this oh so indecisive mama!!!
