February Randoms

Here is a post of random things that haven't made it into a post of their own.

We had dinner over at Allison and Jon Michael's a few weeks ago.  Because it was before J's birthday, they made brownies and Jude wanted to sing Happy Birthday to him.

RaRa ordered this shirt for J.  I can't wait for him to wear this!!!

I just love this picture!!!  He is constantly kissing on my Bennett bump.  He is now saying, "We will meet him soon."

J has really gotten into listening to CDs at night.  It's something he and Daddy do together.

Birthday dinner at IHOP for pancakes.  J loves pancakes for dinner!!!

We have had unseasonably warm temps for February, so Saturday evening before dinner we went to the park.

Christmas Brunch

This year I decided to host a Christmas brunch for the ladies in our Sunday morning Bible class.  This brunch had become quite a tradition for our age group as Rachel hosted one yearly.  Because she and her family no longer attend WWCC.  I thought I would host one this year instead.  I knew our Bible class girls needed a get together.  I thought maybe a Girls Night but went with the brunch idea.  I invited everyone on a private Facebook invite and was super surprised giving only 2 weeks notice that 10 girls were able to come.  I know how busy it is during December, so I was super pleased with the turn out.
I love hosting things.  Unfortunately, I don't do enough of it.  I had a great time planning the menu, baking, and decorating for it!!!

For dessert, I made red velvet cake balls, peanut butter blossoms, and chocolate peppermint coconut macaroons.

My mom found the recipe for this amazing punch in one of her cookbooks.  It was delicious!!!! I definitely would make it again.

The menu was ham and swiss pinwheels, French toast soufflĂ©, hot spiced fruit, sausage and spinach quiche and apple spinach salad.  Everything turned out delicious!!!

I have no idea if I will make this an annual thing,  but I sure did enjoy putting this together.  It was a great way for us girls to get together and really talk without hubbies and kids.

Our Easter Weekend: Part 2

Easter Sunday was just as great as the rest of our weekend.  We went to church, worshipped God, and remembered our Risen Savior like we do every Sunday.  We just had some added festivity because we were in our Easter outfits and hunted more candy-filled eggs!!!

Here's J's Easter basket-

Of course, all things Mickey Mouse!!!
And my personal favorite, the Peekawho bunny that I had monogrammed.

LOVE this!!!  J was clapping at the children's chorus at the end of our Easter service.

Let's take a moment and look at how cute my boy is.

I seriously can't get over his Easter outfit...

the seersucker pants, the vest, the bowtie = perfection

 Now, onto egg hunt #3...
 He's a pro now!!!

The most important part-- the candy!!!

 Look at that expression!!!

All the kids at the egg hunt... look at my sweet boy sitting with all the big kids!!!

Thanks Katy for helping J with his basket, so I could take pictures!!!

Final stop of the weekend- RaRa and BaBa's for a yummy brunch!!!

Beyond blessed to have such wonderful grandparents

 Love my color-coordinated family!!!

This year was by far my favorite Easter of all!!!
Having kids definitely makes all holidays so much more meaningful and fun!!!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter, too!!!

A Busy 3 Days

The past three days have been so busy but lots of fun.

On Monday, we headed up to the church for Gym Day.  Miss Emily had to cancel the Swim Day because it has been so rainy this week.

Kristen worked with J on his walking!!!

It's amazing what he will do for someone other than Mommy!

Watching the rain!!!

After Gym Day, we went home and J suddenly decided to ride the car that has been sitting in his room for almost 6 months.

Tuesday- We headed to the mall to pick up a few things. This is when we stopped for a Great American Cookie.  Mommy was nice and shared a little bit of her M&M chocolate chip cookie.

Can you tell he liked it?

After the mall and a quick stop by Green's Produce for some veggies, we stopped by Aunt Holly's to meet their new bunny, Butterscotch.  Lori and her boys stopped by for a bit and J met Whitt.

Then it was home for a nap, so Mommy could make dinner.

Mmmmm... dinner!  I'll post the recipe for the chicken I made soon!

Wednesday-  We drove out to Cleburne to spend some time with Aleaha and Janie.  Aleaha and I are work friends.  We ate lunch together every Tuesday and Thursday that is until she went on maternity leave in April.  She won't be coming back in the fall because she wants to stay home with Janie. ( I wonder why?) Plus, Cleburne is kind of a far drive to YMLA.  I sure am going to miss her and hope we get a school nurse half as great as her!

J loved pulling the chain on the lamp and turning it off and on, off and on...

And on...

Playing with Janie

 She's so sweet!!!

Patting Janie's head!

It's been a very fun week so far.  Tomorrow we head out to Jackson Hole to spend some time at the cabin with RaRa and GPa.  More pics from Jackson Hole to come!!!
