Five on Friday

ONE

First off, I don't know how some girls look so good in the What I Wore posts I see around on blogland.  Can you tell I am not comfortable taking pics of myself in my bathroom mirror?  Now, the real reason I took the pic.  The pants.  I have recently found and started following Hippie Chick Boutique on Instagram.  The owner has some cute stuff!!! I ordered these fun pants and love them!!!  The bonus is the are like wearing pjs!!!

 

 

TWO

I took J to the ENT at Cook's Children on Monday, where we found out that J will need tubes in his ears.  It's kind of a relief for us.  We are really hoping that this may be the thing that will help him with his speech development. 

The pics below are us in the waiting room.  How great is Cook's for kids!!! It's so bright and cheery everywhere, and J had the best time playing on the interactive game in the lobby.  Then, outside while waiting for our car they had such a pretty shaded area with huge pots of flowers.

 

THREE

 

We are big fans of Pharrell Williams, "Happy" song in our house.  I can honestly say that buying his song on iTunes for my phone was the best $1.29 I have spent in a long time.  We listen to it ALL the time.  The other reason I love this song is because happy is one of J's words.  J doesn't have that many words, but one of his words in his growing vocabulary is happy.  I love that!!!

 

FOUR

Speaking of happy, this boy LOVES to dip!!!

 

 

He loves dipping with ketchup, BBQ sauce (especially Chickfila's) and salsa. If it gets him to eat, I am all for it!!!  :)

 

FIVE

 

Tonight after I got off work, we went to dinner with RaRa at Café Acapulco.  It was so pretty out we ate on the patio.  J hung out with the girls while Daddy and all the guys in the family went to Texas de Brazil.

Five on Friday- Birthday edition

Where did February go???  This month just flew by.  With being sick, J's birthday, and Valentine's Day, the month is gone.

Well, I am about to branch out from my usual posts today. Today with my Five on Friday, I am listing five things that are on my birthday wish list.  Last night Aaron asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and I told him I had been thinking about doing a post to make it simple.  I figure I will take all of the guess work out.  Now, let me clarify that I do NOT expect to get all of these items!!! I am just putting five things I have had my eye on in one spot.  ;)

These are listed in no particular order!!!

-ONE-

I love me some Toms.  I discovered that they fit my hard to fit skinny foot two Christmases ago and now I have four pair.  I would love to add a fun new spring one to it.  I like the above pair and this pair in coral or teal or navy. I can't decide!!!

-TWO-

 

It took me a while to jump on the scarf bandwagon, but this fall I finally gave it a go.  And I really like a scarf.  It adds a fun color to an outfit and really makes you look put together.  Since I don't have any fun springy ones, I would love to have one.  The top scarf is from the Gap found here.  The middle is from Nordstrom Juniors found here. Yes.  I want a label maker.  I have so many organizational projects that I want to do around the house.  I think this little gadget might help me with some of them.  I have no idea what is the best type of label maker but here's one on amazon with pretty good reviews for a good price.

I was looking on Pottery Barn Kids the other day and fell in love with this garland.  I don't have any Easter décor but plan to get a few things this year.  I would love to hang this in front of our mantel.

 

-FIVE-

 

 

 

This is an experience and gift wrapped in one.  It's a place in Dallas that you can go and get your hair washed and styled while drinking fun little drinks with friends.  How fun does that sound!!! I love, love, love having my hair blown out.  I think this would be fun to do with a friend.  Definitely a treat!

 

 

There it is.  My birthday wish list. I don't enjoy giving people ideas for gifts for me because I usually can never think of any.

Five on Friday

As we wrap up another week, here's a little of what we've been up to lately...

-ONE-

Monday night was the annual Tree Lighting at the Chandlers.  It's quite a tradition with Aaron's family.  Every year the whole family gets together and has dinner and decorates the Christmas tree.  Then the big moment- all the lights are turned off and the tree lights are turned on.  So fun!!!

 

-TWO-

Picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus.  This is the one I took with my I-phone. I'll try to get the official one up on here later.  J did great this year!!!  He didn't smile, but he didn't cry either. 

 

-THREE-

I made this the other night with an extra pie crust.  I got the idea from Shay over at Mix and Match Mama.  Only she used Nutella and marshmallow cream.  I didn't have Nutella, so I subbed in peanut butter and chocolate chips.  Then, baked it at 425 for 10 minutes.  It was delish!!!

I got my business cards for Mary Kay in the mail this week.  Pretty exciting!!!
